At Trabuco Hills High School, the boys' soccer program is guided by a coaching philosophy rooted in discipline, teamwork, and player development. The program emphasizes the importance of hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. It fosters an environment where players are encouraged to grow as individuals while contributing to the collective success of the team. The approach integrates tactical skill-building, mental toughness, and a commitment to excellence, preparing athletes not only for competitive soccer but also for life's broader challenges.
Joshua
Cummins
Josh Cummins is an accomplished soccer coach currently serving as the head coach for Trabuco Hills High School. With extensive experience coaching at both the club and high school levels, he has guided boys’ and girls’ teams to success in State, National, and International Championships. Previously, he coached the varsity teams at Saddleback Valley Christian, leading them to multiple league championships and a CIF finals appearance. As a CIF Advisory Board member and Director of College Soccer Camps, Josh has placed numerous players into NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA programs.
His credentials include a U.S. Soccer National B License, an NSCAA Diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Health Science & Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, and certification as a NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer. Additionally, he is an American Heart Association-certified instructor in First Aid and CPR.
Chris
Cortez
Chris Cortez, a dedicated Trabuco Hills HS alumnus, is advisor and Assistant Coach for Varsity, JV and Frosh-Soph. He brings a wealth of international experience to every level of our program. With a distinguished 16-year professional career spanning Mexico, the USA, Europe, and Asia, Chris offers unique insights into high-level play and a broad perspective on the game.
His goal is to cultivate an environment where players are pushed to excel, developing both their technical skills and personal growth. Chris believes in the power of competitive, team-driven learning and is committed to helping each player evolve, not only as an athlete but as a well-rounded individual.
Guillaume
Marneau
Coach Guillaume Marneau brings a great hands on experience, dedication, and passion for soccer.
He currently serves as the Junior Varsity Soccer Coach at Trabuco Hills High School, where he is dedicated to developing young athletes and building a strong, competitive team.
Coach Marneau’s journey in soccer began at a young age, establishing a strong foundation with United FC, where he played for six years. During his time with United FC, the club achieved a #1 national ranking twice, highlighting his involvement in an elite and highly competitive environment. From ages 10 to 14, he also played with the Olympic Development Program, further refining his skills and competing at a high level.
He continued his soccer career at Montana State University of Billings, playing all four years at the collegiate level. Coach Marneau graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Coaching, equipping him with a unique understanding of the mental aspects of sports, motivation, and athlete development.
With this robust background, Coach Marneau is committed to fostering both technical skills and mental resilience in his players at Trabuco Hills High School, guiding them to reach their fullest potential on and off the field.
Curtis
Canett
Curtis Canett, a proud graduate of Trabuco Hills High School, was a standout on a league championship team that reached the CIF quarterfinals. His passion for soccer led him to play in college and embark on a coaching career spanning over 30 years, with experience at multiple levels. Currently coaching at West Coast FC, Curtis is a strong advocate for hard work and dedication. He takes pride in coaching and motivating young athletes to pursue their highest potential.
Cory
Dilbeck
With over 20 years of soccer coaching experience, Cory Dilbeck is dedicated to developing skilled players and successful teams. Currently the Head Coach for Trabuco Hills High School Girls Soccer and Assistant Coach for the Boys Soccer Program, he also holds an academic background in Economics from California Polytechnic – Pomona.
Cory’s impressive coaching resume includes leading club teams and high school teams to multiple championships, including a USYS National Championship and numerous CIF, Pacific Coast League, and SoCal Soccer League titles. He holds a USSF National Coaching License and currently serves as Coach at South Slammers FC.
His coaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, inclusive environment where players thrive. Known for his approachable style and open communication, Cory fosters teamwork, discipline, and resilience. He takes a holistic approach to player development, focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness, and mental toughness. Through tailored training sessions and constructive feedback, Cory encourages players to reach their full potential on and off the field.
